Revenge

Shakespeare's message about revenge is that it can end up being your own enemy. When you are looking for revenge, at the end you are hurting yourself by the fact that those bad feeling you have inside it would never let you pass the page to continue your life as a normal person. In other words, revenge is never going to be a solution for a problem. On the other hand, it can cause a fatal tragedy that can led to death. In my opinion, I know it is very hard to accept it and just leave things the way it is but at the end you would be satisfy of your decision. A good example would be the movie Hamlet that at the end he died.

We Real Cool

This is a really good poem that teach young people to become more aware of their action. From my point of view, I think that the author's message about writing this poem" We Real Cool" is that teenager are doing crazy thing without seeing the consequences. They think it's COOL to skip from school , get drunk and try new things as (drugs). They are just hanging out with the wrong people. In addition, the author describes that teenager are just living the present without worrying on their future. To conclude, I can say that this is a great poem to alert teenagers know that they have to start acting more mature because most of these things bring anything good than death.

Ozymandias

I specially like this poem because it gives us a good message about seeing life. This poem by Percy Bysshe was mainly written to let people know that nothing last forever. In the poem there was a sign that catched my attention that says "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings; Looks on My works , ye Mighty, and despair!"There was irony presented in that sentence, because at the end there was nothing left to look at; it wasy destroyed. In my opinion, I like this poem a lot because in reality sometime we think that things last forever, and this is a good example to demonstrate that not always.

Blakes's Lamb and Tyger

In my opinion, in the poem "Lamb and Tyger" the author compare the good and the bad things of life around the society. First of all, William Blake describe two different animals in those two poem, which are the "lamb" and the "tyger". as fearful and dark. Also distinguish as a very dangerous animal. On the other hand, he describe the lamb as something weak and inocent. To conclude, the message I was able to perceive is that the author tried to represent the good and bad side by representing those two animals.

Beauty

I believe that Keats in his lines tried to let the reader know that beauty for him is very important. Beauty is not exactly referring to a people's face instead it can be something else as places, object and art. In Keat's poem he compare truth and beauty. While reading I perceive that beauty means a lot for him. To sum up, the author contemplates that beauty is everywhere. Finally, I found this poem very interesting by the way he expresses himself and the way he describes the concept of beuty .

Mark

Mark is one of the poem I have read that had caught my attention. As i read the poem "Marks" I have to say that I saw the tone to be a bit sarcastic towards the end. A mother doesn't usually say that she will drop out. I believe that its just a way for her to vent out the anger that she has inside of her because she is the "Maid" in the house. She is the one that has to do everything and meet up to everyone's standards. To sum up, I believe we all have to consider our mother because she is the only one who is going to be in our side until the end.

Digging

In this story the author uses descriptive language to exaplain what his parents do for living. In the story "Digging" by Heany, the author use rude words such as gun and pen. Eventhough he admires his family, he didn't want to follow the tradition that they were doing for generations. In addition he is not good at digging, instead he prefer to become a writer. The connotation in this poem was that the same persistence that the author's father puts into digging is the same as the author when he writes. Finally, it was an interesting poem, but really difficult to understand.

Dedication in A Worn Path

I enjoy reading this story because is a gesture of love.In A Worn Path story, dedication was present through out the story. A good examle was when Phoenix had to traveled a long distance in order o get the medicine for her grandson. On her way to the town, she had encountered to many obstacles. She pass through conditions that no old lady should pass through. For example, in her long journey there was wild animals and even a man with a gun. Phoenix commitment was that she didn't gave up and just did what her heart told her to do, just to find the medicine. To sum up, I think it was admirable what the old lady did without thinking of the consequences.

Tell-Tale Heart

This story in particular was very crazy, because how come you are going to kill somebody and stay just calm as if nothing happened. Definetly, I can characterize the narrator in Poe's story by being an evil man. He must have psycological problem because it is impossible that you can commit such a crime and later you act as if nothing had happened. He was insane by the fact he planned everything and give details of how he was going to kill the old man. A good example of showing that he is mentally ill , is when he was trying to convince the reader that he wasn't mad but sane.At the end of the story, when he finally killed the old man, he still heard the old man's heart beat. Later, he confess that he killed him.

The Handsomest Drowned Man

In the story "The Handsomest Drowned Man in The World",by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, fits into the story in the way that they simbolized the drowned man as the beauty of life. For example, the woman in the village was amazed by his huge size and his beauty. They were amazed by him , because he looked such a person very different from them. He was treated with respect even though he was not alive. For intance, the woman decided to make him some cloth.Children were playing with him all afternoon as if he was alive. Finally, I think Esteben made a great impact to all those people's life. I suggest everybody to read it because is very interesting.

The Lottery

Once you see the title you might think is just about a reward but is nothing that has too relate with money but rather human life. In the story, "The Lottery" the author describe some of the way people practice their beliefs. Moreover, when they follow their religion's tradition they don't feel compassion for those that are sacrifice to be killed. On the other hand, they think that what they are doing is correct, and they feel happy about it. In the story the author talk about some of the tradition that they practice every year. It is called " The Lottery " nothing that deal with money, is more than that, it is such a paper that says the person who is going to be sacrifice. I am not agree with those type of religion, but the reality is that they believe in certain things that for us it sound strange but for them is just normal. In addition , I believe our society is also getting more into religion, so thats why they are following more their traditions and values.

Araby A & P

From my point of view, I believe the setting affected these two stotries in negative ways. In the first story "Araby" by James Joice, the author fell in love with a girl at the moment he saw her. The author gave a well developed description of how the place looked like, so the readers can have an inmagination of it. The story took place in a dark and grey place. Since he saw the girl, he was following her until he finally got to talk to her. They decided to meet at the fair. Unfortunately, things didn't went as he planned, he couldn't buy the gift he promised her.
In addition, on "Updike Story", three girl enter to the store where Sammy was working wearing swimsuit. The manager treated the girl really hard by saying to leave the store. To sum up, I believe that setting do affect a lot, but when thing are going to happen nobody can stop it.

Literature

In my opinion, I believe Literature is all about written works. In other words, you can find it anywhere like in poems, books, magazines, poetry. When it comes to interpret the message, it can bring different ways of seeing it for example as a comedy, tragedy or just to get more knowledge. The purpose of literature is to entertain the reader because the author uses a creative language to express his/her ideas. You can also write your thoughts and believes and that would be also classified as Literature. To sum up, literature is everything around us.

Cathedral by Raymond Carver

I enjoy reading this story because nowadays we seem to talk about people without even knowing them. In the story of Carver Cathedralm the characters relate and interact with each other once Robert got to the house. Bob wasn't very happy about the idea of him staying at the house for couple of days. In addition, the idea of him being blind bothered him too. Bob expected Robert wearing dark glasses, but he was surprise he didn't have one. He even said that his eyes looked as anyone's eyes. Moreover, Bub realized the abilities that a blind person could have. For instance, Robert thought Bub how to draw with his eyes closed. In my opinion, I thing Bub had a gread time interacting with Robert. It was a different experience by learning the abilities that Robert had. Finally, I enjoyed reading this story because it is always interesting to meet different peoples although they might have some incapabilities
